OZONE RANGERS
From the road jottings of The Ozone Rangers:
On Saturday we made the long drive on Route
219, to Ebensburg, PA for our second annual show for
The Upper Summit Cambria County Abate Bike Fest.
We played in the large pavilion and had a big crowd of righteous partiers
all night long.
The event is growing each year with more campers, vendors and folks
on bikes just having fun.
For the second week in a row we ran into a former Ozone Ranger.
Last week it was Henry and then Saturday, Billy Nusom
was on hand with Kelly and we got him up for a
couple ZZ tunes. The boy is still playing and singing as well as ever and
folks in The Altoona area are lucky to have him and his band,
Banditos in the hood.
Thanks also for visits from Bassist Troy from The Old
Driving Sideways Band and long time
friend Mary and the other few hundred familiar
faces.
Thanks to Dave for inviting us again.
Coming up this week things get busy.
On Friday we'll be playing a
private party as Cal gets to finally retire.
On Saturday we'll be back at
Balloon's in Ellicottville, N.Y. and it should
be hopping.
It's The Fourth Of July plus The Rodeo's in town.
We play nice and early, 5-9, and we'll be ready
for whatever craziness is needed.
On Sunday we'll be at Conneaut Lake Park playing at The Bikes, Brews and
Blues Series at the park.
We met Cornell Bogdan, a D.J. for Youngstown, Ohio
Rock Radio Station
94 WUZZ, The Wolf, years ago when we played for the station.
He invited us to be part of the bike party series at the park and asked us
to play as much ZZ Top as possible, to dust off our selection of blues tunes
and play what will make for a party. It's our honor to do that.
Cornell's The Real Deal when it comes to playing the blues. His show,
Tangled Up In Blues, mixes classic old blues
tunes with the latest stuff from today's hot blues artists. Very cool!
We play 3-6 and Conneaut Lake Park is a cool,
old time amusement park as an extra goodie in the mix.

shows:

Then on Wednesday, the 8th, we're in Tonawanda, N.Y.
for their Wednesday On The Canal Series.
Long time friend and avid supporter of Buffalo Music,
Rick Falkowski, invited us down for a Southern Rock Tribute Party.
We'll play 6-7:30 laying down The ZZ Top and at
8 PM, Poison Whiskey will supply The Skynard.
Sounds like a good concoction.
